EdStat

Edstat

EdStat is the District of Columbia’s Office of the State Superintendent of Education’s (OSSE) collaborative information-based decision making and management process.  EdStat is based on the CompStat process  pioneered in the New York City Police Department; the CitiStat process begun by Martin O’Malley in Baltimore, MD; the SchoolStat process begun by the Baltimore City Public School System; and the CapStat process begun by Mayor Adrian N. Fenty in the District of Columbia.  EdStat is the first application of the “Stat” management model to a State Education Agency.

Accountability is ownership of results.

“Good intentions are not enough in public service.  Our citizens and students demand results. EdStat helps me ensure that OSSE delivers District residents an excellent education.”
