DC Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership Program (DCLEAP) (Cont.)

Applicants who are Wards of the DC Court must provide :

Original, signed DC OneApp Supporting Documents Checklist and Agreement

Ward of the Court verification letter
Proof of high school completion
Student Aid Report (SAR)
Affirmation and Legal Disclaimer Statements with original signatures from the applicant

Award Amounts

Up to $1,500 per academic year. Awards are limited to a maximum of six (6) years from the date of the student’s first college semester, for a lifetime maximum of $9,000.
Up to $5,000 per academic year to DC residents 24 years of age or younger attending an eligible college or university in the District of Columbia. Awards are limited to a maximum of six (6) years from the date of the student’s first college semester, for a lifetime maximum of $25,000.
Awards will be reduced for less than full-time enrollment, with no eligibility below the half-time level.
Awards do not cover summer or mini-terms.

Eligible Institutions

All colleges and universities certified by the US Department of Education as being eligible to participate in Federal Title IV Student Aid Programs.
Proprietary institutions are not eligible. Proprietary institutions are defined, by the Internal Revenue Service, as institutions that are for profit.
