DC Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership Program (DCLEAP) (Cont.)
 
Applicants who are Wards of the DC Court must provide :
  • Original, signed DC OneApp Supporting Documents Checklist and Agreement
  • Ward of the Court verification letter
  • Proof of high school completion
  • Student Aid Report (SAR)
  • Affirmation and Legal Disclaimer Statements with original signatures from the applicant
Award Amounts
  • Up to $1,500 per academic year.  Awards are limited to a maximum of six (6) years from the date of the student’s first college semester, for a lifetime maximum of $9,000.
  • Up to $5,000 per academic year to DC residents 24 years of age or younger attending an eligible college or university in the District of Columbia.  Awards are limited to a maximum of six (6) years from the date of the student’s first college semester, for a lifetime maximum of $25,000.
  • Awards will be reduced for less than full-time enrollment, with no eligibility below the half-time level.
  • Awards do not cover summer or mini-terms.
Eligible Institutions
  • All colleges and universities certified by the US Department of Education as being eligible to participate in Federal Title IV Student Aid Programs.
  • Proprietary institutions are not eligible.  Proprietary institutions are defined, by the Internal Revenue Service, as institutions that are for profit.
